In one part of these gardens, dominated by clipped hedges, are two lions with one of their claws on a ball; remember those of the Congress of Deputies in Madrid. They were destined there, in principle. The lions were considered too small for the Madrid building and, in the end, the bronze ones made by Ponciano Ponzano were installed in the Congress. In 1864, Juan Bautista Romero (Marquis of San Juan) bought them in Madrid and brought them to Valencia for his mansion.
