This park is organized by walks that are each dedicated to a tree: palm walk, olive tree, oak, poplar, etc.
The Marchalenes Park also has a wide variety of shrubs and herbaceous plants.
A neighboring building that had been built in the second half of the 20th century has been integrated into the park.
In this park there is an exhibition of photographs on the old "trenet", the narrow gauge train that took to different towns on the outskirts of Valencia. The exhibition is located in the cafeteria, which was the old Marchalenes railway station.
The layout of this park was made on old orchard land and maintains some buildings linked to agricultural work from the 15th and 16th centuries, such as the Alquería de Barrinto (in the photo), now converted into a public library. The library bears the name of the Joanot Martorell Public Library.
The park also integrates an old oil factory.
The Alquería de Barrinto dates back to the 14th century, but its current exterior appearance dates back to the 15th century. It was restored in 2002 by Miguel del Rey. In the photo you can see its small fenced garden.
